Adam, clearly calm (before he started recording). Partaking in a little XBox 360 while the drum mic placement is underway.
Below are some select photos from the studio recording sessions, March 12 - 16 at dbDigital Studio. Sessions ran in marathons, starting at about 11AM and running until around 10PM each night. The photos are roughly in chronological order. |

Recording SessionJoe, also pre-recording. Pictured here with the sh-t eating grin only Joe can produce when beating someone else severely in Fight Night Round 3. Leif laying down some of the "scratch" vocals and guitar, pictured here with a beautiful new Martin D-28. Adam and Kenny on the famous couch (pictured numerous times here). Note the smiles and optimism that are common early in the sessions. Joe, pictured here as his expression is changing from bemused to "you'd better put that @%# camera away". Adam, Kenny and Nick offering up well thought out and meaningful input to the recording process.... NOT. Nick (aka Nicky-tips) pictured here in his "before" shot for the upcoming Weight Watchers advertisement. Leif getting dual mics set up for the real guitar track recording. Pictured here with Bryan (the studio owner) hard at work. Nick, playing some lead work, pictured here playing an Ibanez S-470-BK (and a T-Shirt displaying an unrealistic sense of optimism about his playing). Joe and Leif, now delirious, unable to distinguish night from day in the enclosed studio sound booth. Leif, pictured here recovering from a slight fever the previous day. At this point, his voice is completely gone. Joe, Leif and Adam, pictured here late at night wondering if the purpose of recording your songs is to make yourself hate them gradually. Moments later, rage subsided, Joe, Leif and Adam have a moment of band chemistry, complete with secret Italian hand signs. Bryan, studio owner pictured here doing what he does best. No jokes, he worked harder than any of us, the whole week. A typical band moment. Adam (the victim) in horror, as Kenny (the witness) laughs uncontrollably, while Joe (always the victimizer) swings a foot Adam's way. Shaker, Take 2 - Adam takes first dibs at trying to re-lay some shaker work that was not quite on the first time. |
